Be Transformed

I remember when Chase was 3 or 4, (he is now 24), he loved the Transformers.  If you don't know about this awesome cartoon and now movie, it was an epic story of Autobots that could transform into huge warriors to defeat the enemies.  The characters had names like Optimus Prime and Megatron and the enemies were just called the “Decepticons,” just like our enemy the Devil, who is the Deceiver.  Chase would stand in front of the oven door to see his reflection and do his transformer moves. He would make the sounds of the battle cries. He would put on his serious face and intensely fight the enemy of his reflection.  This would go on for an hour or more, (or so it seemed) when I was trying to cook.

When Optimus Prime and the others would be transformed for battle, they would go through a big dramatic process of transformation because that was the "big deal moment.” That the moment Chase would wait to happen.

The battles were great, but it was the transformation that had to happen for the victory in battle.

The Bible even talks about being transformed.  Romans 12:2, "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-His good, pleasing and perfect will."

When I hear this truth in the Bible, I see us transforming from the natural to the supernatural way of life.  My thoughts can not stay confined to the old patterns of thinking because there would never be a transformation, the big deal, the process to defeat the enemy, the devil...Decepticons!

If I do not renew my mind, I will never be able to know what are and are not the patterns of this world.

An old pattern of this would be to worry, but the word of God gives us the transformed way. Are you ready to transform to win the battle and have victory? In Philippians 4:6-7 it says,  "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.  Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.  Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.  His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."  Wow, I can feel the transformation! (Read it aloud again)! We are going from an old pattern of worry to a new pattern of victory.

The destruction of pride brings about grace in humility.  Pride would be the pattern of this world, but humility is the supernatural transformation to live in God's grace and He will exalt you (Luke 14:11 and 1 Peter 5:5-7) In the word of God we have an example, Philippians 2:5 (AMPV) "Let this same attitude and purpose and (humble) mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus; (let Him be your example in humility)."

Just like Chase, get a glimpse of your reflection. Are you ready to transform to win the battle of our thinking?  For us to have victory in our lives, we must be transformed.  We can't do it on our own, just like the characters, they had superpowers.  We have a superpower called the Holy Spirit.  Through Jesus Christ we have all that we need to transform into a life lived supernaturally!  When we declare His Word and His ways we will have victory!

2 Corinthians 5:17,  "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone, the new has come!"

I pray today that we surrender to the Holy Spirit for a total transformation!
