Do you ever have times in your life where it seems like you are dealing with a lot of DRAMA? You know “drama,” like where we get bombarded with life's stuff: from waking up to no hot water cause the hot water heater gave it up or we wake up to debilitating disappointment; where it's the everyday things or if it's the belief of hopelessness in our lives. I think the enemy shows up in all of life's stuff to take an opportunity to create drama in our situations. I know that times in my life everything was a drama.  My view was skewed with anxiety, fear, control (not Holy Spirit self-control), worry and a tinge of obsessive compulsive behaviors. The enemy tries to keep us in a state of DRAMA:

1 Peter 5:8-9, “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”

When life has got real circumstances and problems that we just can't seem to handle, this is the place that the enemy wants us to look and focus on the problem and the disappointments. At that point, our emotions seem to take front stage and they are leading the whole performance of our life. The drama seems all too welcome. Our emotions become unraveled like pulling on a loose thread, and it all falls apart. This seems right to our emotions because then we live trying to thread our lives back together without the needle (God).

When we have frustrations, doubts, weariness, emotional wounds, and anxiety, God wants us to resist the urge to fall apart and live the drama. God says in James 4:7, "submit yourselves, then to God. Resist the Devil, and he will flee from you."

God has written a script with all of the characters and all the intrigue. It has a beginning and a victorious ending. The script is the truth and life, and it's the Bible. God never said that we wouldn't face fear, anxiety, and loneliness, but He did give us a script to follow so that we don't live in DRAMA.  He wants us to live in faith, in freedom, and trusting in His ability to direct our lives. God even gives us a wardrobe department. It's called the Armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and in verse 16 it says, "In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one."

Are you anxious?

Well it's in the script for what to do: Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer  and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

The playbill of our lives should read:

The leading characters are The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.

Special appearances by love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23)

Sponsored by: The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ!!!
